He gaped at her, incredulity written all over his face, and she felt her blush spread down all the way to her toes.
“I- You- This-” he spluttered, trying to voice out his thoughts to no avail. “You!” he finally settled for, throwing his hands up in the air wildly.
“Shut up, Malfoy,” she hissed, her eyes thinning into a glare, “You’re making a scene.”
He glared back at her in response, the ridiculousness of the situation temporarily receding to the back of his mind. “I’m making a scene? You’re cheating on me and I’m making a scene?”
She stood up so that he couldn’t intimidate her with the difference in their heights. “I’m not cheating on you, you idiot!”
“I saw you giggling and blushing and flirting with that…with that boy!” He managed to grit out, furious. “I have no idea what went wrong with you because even if you were going to cheat on me, one would think that given my superior good looks and infinite charm, you’d have taste but no,” he scrunched his face up, “You went for a boy who looks even more feminine than me.”
She cuffed him on the head before snarling, “Take that back!”
Draco turned to their friends. “Did you see that?” he asked, “She’s hitting me over some boy young enough to be her brother!”
She let out a noise of frustration. “You know what, Malfoy? You’re sleeping in the living room tonight.”
“So your boy toy can entertain you?” he sneered.
She glared at him. “He’s twice the man you are,” she said before turning to stalk away.
Draco turned to Blaise and Harry. “Can you believe her?”
But before any of the men could reply, Ginny rolled her eyes and asked Draco, “You do know that you over reacted, right?”
Pansy nodded. “Chris Colfer isn’t Granger’s ‘boy toy’. He’s her idol.”
“She was salivating over him,” Draco defended.
“That’s because the boy is worth salivating over!” Ginny retorted, sending him a disgusted look. “Sometimes I wonder what Hermione sees in you.”
Pansy nodded. “You can’t sing-”
“-you have the fashion sense of a cow-” Ginny continued.
“Hey!”
“-you aren’t sensitive to Granger’s emotions-”
“-you sure as hell aren’t entertaining…”
Pansy looked thoughtful at that. “I beg to differ, Weasley,” she murmured, “Draco can be very entertaining when he’s being a prick.”
Draco growled. At least he thought he did. He tried to think of some hex —any hex, really— that would shut both witches up for good but decided that they weren’t worth it before he stalked away angrily.
Pansy and Ginny shared a look.
“Men,” they both muttered.
Blaise and Harry wisely kept their mouths shut.
