Rose shivered. Anthony Guardo was by no means ugly, in fact, he had looks and he had charms. But the look in his eyes was cold and calculating and they travelled all over her body as if mentally undressing her. And Guardo was so patronizing. He murmured sickeningly sweet things and responded to all her questions and attempts at making conversations with innuendos. She abso-freaking-lutely hated it.
And she wasn’t sure how long she could stall him in the cafeteria. So far, she hadn’t been able to get a word in edgewise about art in general, much let put to him that she knew about a Montesquieu. All Guardo wanted to do was to flirt around and get her into bed.
“I heard you were interested in art, Mr. Guardo,” she said, fluttering her eyelashes in effort to look more seductive.
“And I heard you painted,” he murmured in reply.
Finally.
“How ‘bout we retire to my room and you can paint me all over. I have a fondness for chocolate syrup.” Guardo winked.
BAH. Blast that man.
Rose wanted to gag but she giggled instead. “Oh, you!” she exclaimed, her grin still in place, “I was being serious.”
“Maybe we don’t have to be serious,” he caught her hand in his, “Maybe it’s time for some well deserved fun.”
Rose tried to tug her hand away, but his grip was too firm. “Or maybe we should get to know each other better.”
His eyes thinned and his grip tightened. “I’ve done my fill of talk. I indulged in your nonsense because you are beautiful but I have paid a good deal of money for you and I expect to benefit from it. I was promised pleasure and I expect to get my pleasure. We shall go back to my room now,” he hissed before he all but tugged her up from her seat, “And we shall go, whether you like it or not.”
She tried to buy herself some time to think. “Mr. Guardo-”
He interrupted silkily her before she could even finish her sentence. “Hush, woman. I do not want to hear a word from you right now. Scream all you want when we’re in bed —and I can guarantee you will scream the naughtiest things you can think of while we’re in bed until you cannot scream any longer— but not now, minx.”
“I’m afraid that would be highly impossible, sir,” a voice rang from behind them and Rose turned to see Scorpius before her body sagged against her chair in relief.
“Who the ruddy hell are you?” Guardo asked angrily.
“The name is Scorpius Malfoy,” Scorpius said smoothly, pulling Rose behind him, “And I’m the man that paid in advance for Scarlet. She is coming with me.”
“Definitely not!” Guardo roared heatedly, “I just dined with her manager-”
“Swearengen?” Scorpius asked, arching a single eyebrow elegantly, “He should have known better. Where Miss Scarlet is concerned, I am always the one with the priority.”
“The hell you are,” Guardo growled before whipping his wand out and trained it at Scorpius, “Give me the girl now and I shan’t hurt you.”
Scorpius chuckled and twirled his own wand. “I would love to see you try.”
Rose placed a hand on Scorpius’ arm. “Please don’t, Mr. Malfoy,” she murmured before turning to Guardo, “Mr. Guardo, sir, I’m terribly sorry about this, but Mr. Malfoy is right. I am at his call. Whenever he needs me, he can have me.”
Guardo seethed. “You have not heard the last of this,” he hissed at Scorpius, his anger apparent in his eyes. Scorpius just smirked and Guardo brushed against him roughly on his way out.
Scorpius was just about to ask Rose if she was alright when she was roughly pulled away from him. Guardo’s smirk met Scorpius’ murderous look.
“You can have her for the night,” he said sweetly, “But I’m definitely claiming a kiss first. Let’s call it…reimbursement for my time, shall we?”
His gaze still firmly on Scorpius, he pressed his lips hard against Rose and pried her lips open forcibly with his tongue. Before Scorpius could react with a curse though, Guardo pulled away and Disapparated on the spot with a mocking wave.
