Notes 2: I need someone to help me out. I claimed another number, 8 (it's supposed to be lucky for the Chinese!), and it turned out to be Lead Singer - Weird Sisters Band. I was all major WTF. I seriously cannot see Draco doing that. Bounce some ideas off me? Please? =) *puppy dog eyes*

“I had no idea you were exceptionally interested in History of Magic, Malfoy. Would you mind expanding a little on that topic?” Hermione’s pen was poised above her notepad.
“And I thought you’d be addressing me as ‘Mr. Malfoy’, Granger.” His lips twitched up in amusement.
“If it helps you sleep at night,” She said, rolling her eyes, “Mr. Malfoy.”
“Well… I was not —still am not quite, actually— particularly interested in the subject, if you must know. I picked it up because the position of Potions Master in Hogwarts was already filled and I figured that History of Magic would be fine too.”
“And…what is your field of expertise in History of Magic?”
Draco shrugged. “I do a little bit of everything. Not a big fan of goblin rebellions or giant wars, of course. You should understand too, since we were both thought by Professor Binns. But mainly, the focus of my class is on…the rise and the fall of Voldemort. I try to make the students understand how hard it was during the war. I show them my scars, my pensive, tell them stories… And well, I try not to come up with the next Voldemort in my class.”
He noticed that she was no longer taking notes, but listening quite intently to him.
“Sounds interesting,” She said with a small smile. “Your students must love you.”
“I think I’m better than Binns, if that’s what you mean.” He returned her smile.
“What happened to you after the war, Malfoy? I never saw you around prior to your taking up of the History of Magic post.”
“We —that is, my father, mother and I— were rebuilding the Manor. I spent the next three or so years reflecting on our lifestyle and decided to change for the better. I wished I could have thought of it earlier, but well…” He drifted off and turned to sip on his tea instead.
She was still looking at him, eyes never straying.
“If there were one thing you could have changed during your pre-teaching years, what would it have been?”
The question wasn’t even out of her mouth when he grabbed her by the shoulder and pulled her up, kissing her full on the lips.
“I would have done that much earlier.”
