Rose tugged her dress lower, eager to show more cleavage. “Optimus, is this low enough, or should it go lower?”
Optimus arched an eyebrow as he observed her. “I say you look more like a tramp than a real tramp. The red dress was a good idea.”
“Gryffindor pride,” she replied with a wink.
Optimus chuckled. “And you’re not even a Gryffindor, impressive.”
Scorpius walked in, adjusting his tie as he did. “All set?” he asked before he Rose caught his eye. His jaw dropped as he took in her attire.
“Merlin,” he exclaimed, throwing one of the sweaters —Al’s, by the looks of it— to her, which she caught nonchalantly, damn her Quidditch reflexes, “Rose, I asked you to dress seductively, not look like a…a sleazy prostitute from Knockturn Alley!”
Rose rolled her eyes. Having Scorpius around was like having another overprotective cousin around. “It’s not that sluttish,” she muttered.
Optimus had to nod his head in agreement. “She’s right. And you know Guardo has a thing for legs. I happen to think the dress accentuates her legs pretty well.”
Scorpius glared at Optimus, mentally berating him for siding Rose. “We won’t be there with you until later in the evening. What if he, I don’t know, attacks you?”
Rose chuckled, as did Optimus. “Oh Scorpius, I’ll just attack him back!”
“B-but… But you’re…”
Her eyes narrowed. “If your next line comes out to be ‘a woman’ or ‘a Weasley’, I shall hex your balls off.”
Scorpius sighed and looked earnestly at her. “I’m just watching out for you, you know that.”
“And you know that I don’t need you to watch out for,” she retorted, slightly miffed, “I am Ron and Hermione Weasley’s prodigy.”
“And a humble one, at that,” Optimus whispered to Scorpius in an undertone.
“I heard you!” Rose stuck her tongue out at Optimus and Scorpius chuckled.
“Where is Al?” Optimus asked.
“Sulking in his room, I suppose,” Rose muttered in reply, frowning slightly. “I feel quite bad about the floating thing and all. Can’t we find him something to do, Scorpius?”
“Well… We need someone on the inside, don’t we?” Scorpius replied, a sly smirk resting on his lips. “I think I found him something to do.”
“Oh?” Rose’s eyebrows went up.
Scorpius nodded. “But he’s not going to like. Not one bit.”
Optimus grinned. “Is it what I think it is?”
Scorpius winked.
